Having founded Retail IQ in early 2005 with a vision to create a specialist retail services firm based in South Australia, Martin believes that retail experience and on-going education are pre-requisites for the provision of effective advisory, recruitment and training services. With over 15 years of hands-on prior experience as an owner of his own retail company, Martin brings a wealth of retail, management and HR experience to Retail IQ.

Having founded the multi award winning Youthworks retail business in 1993 and the Sole Shoes retail business in 2000, Martin built the businesses to a level where they reached annual sales of AUD$25m, employed over 200 people and operated 16 retail stores throughout Adelaide and Melbourne. Having successfully divested Youthworks and Sole Shoes in 2005, Martin then re-acquired the Youthworks name in 2007 and re-launched the brand in Adelaide later that same year. In addition to his active daily role at Retail IQ, Martin also once again now enjoys an interest in the retail industry.

Martin is now working with retailers and other customer service orientated organisations across a variety of sectors. Martin’s professional advice is entirely focused on assisting his clients improve their bottom line business performance. Martin is also actively involved in the recruitment and training divisions of the Retail IQ business and works closely with many of Retail IQ key clients.

Martin is a sought after public speaker whose knowledge is sought after by both the retail and entrepreneurial community. Martin is a founding member of the Entrepreneurs’ Organisation Adelaide (EO) and served as Chapter President in 2001and maintains an active position in EO to this day.
